"Insane Duane" Chamberlain

Duane was born to Dave & Sheree Chamberlain February 3, 1979 in Richmond, Indiana, and has a younger sister Dara (age 18).  He graduated from Richmond Senior High School and carried a 3.8 Grade Point Average.

Duane began his racing career in 1989 in an old SAE Dirt Kart in Cridersville, Ohio.  He posted his very first heat race win the second time he raced.  Later that same year his father built a new Kart and Duane won his first feature.  Duane never looked back from there; he won feature races at every track they raced at.

In 1994, Duane turned 15 and started racing in the Senior Division in both the Heavy & Light Classes.  He found the competition much stiffer but he adapted quickly.  By the end of the 1994 season, Duane won 25 Feature Events.

Duane again moved up in class in 1995, by racing in the Yamaha and 100cc open classes.  These classes are much faster than the 4-cycle classes that he had previously raced in.  All totaled he won 139 times in 95 with 39 of them being feature wins.

At the beginning of the 1996 season Dave built Duane his very first Late Model, which he raced the entire season.  This car was totally financed by his family.  They had to sacrifice to keep the car running.  All in all they did very well considering that they had to race an old cast iron block against the much lighter and faster Aluminum engines.  He raced the car at several local tracks and managed a few heat race wins and made most of the features with the underpowered car.  Aside from the natural talent he displays on the track, he has the benefit of a father (Dave Chamberlain) that has been involved in Stock Car Racing most of his life.  Dave is considered one of the best chassis men in the United States and has many contacts through the country.  His years of experience have been an asset to Duane.  It has helped him understand and convey information about the cars handling to the crew members and to advise them on a potential cure for any problem.  Like most Racers, Duane needs sponsorship.  This sponsorship will allow the team to enter more races, run faster, and promote the sponsor's products or services.  In short, we need each other!  You can contact Duane by phone: (765) 935-9121.

Racing Career

1997-1998:    Jack Hodge (Owner of Firstway Express, Marion, IN 1-888-777-2945) and Duane teamed up for the '97-'98 Racing Season.  Jack had been a car owner for about 12 years and owned one 1996 and two 1997 MasterSbilt Late Models.  The 1998 season was to be the last year of racing for Mr. Hodge.  Due to a failing health, Jack Hodge passed away on August 20th 1998.  Thus ending a two-year friendship.  In the two years that Duane and Jack Hodge competed, Duane was able to capture 9 Feature Wins and many Heat Race Wins.

1999:    Duane was selected to drive Christian Rayburn's (son of the famous C.J. Rayburn) Dirt Late Model.  Duane was a consistent top 5 finisher at most of the tracks he participated at.  Duane was thrilled to have had the opportunity to race for the Rayburn's and invites future potential owners to contact C.J. and ask about Duane's abilities.

2000:    Duane drove for the Long-Time Respected car owner Marion Martin.  They ended the 2000 Racing Season winning the Fun Fest, a three day event at Lawrenceburg Speedway, in Lawrenceburg, In.

2001:    2001 was a successful year for Duane Driving the #B1 car for Bob Breeden.  They won 3 features at Union County Speedway and two features at Lawrenceburg Speedway not to mention may top 5's for the season.  Duane once again wrapped up the season winning the Fun Fest, 2 years in a row at Lawrenceburg Speedway.

2002:    Duane teamed up with car owner Keith Kennedy.  They had a very consistent year to be able to capture 7 feature wins and 28 top fives by the end of the racing season.  Duane was very pleased with the performance of the Warrior Race Cars out of Knoxville, Tennessee and feels there is great potential in these cars and his driving styles.

2003:    With over a 60 event race schedule in 2003 Duane followed the ALMS Sunoco Series capturing the Rookie of the Year title and finishing 6th in the points chase.  Along with this series, Duane finished 5th in the Eldora Speedway points, not to mention making one of the biggest races of the year, the Dream 100.  Being a first year team owner and driver, Duane had put a lot together in one season and has came a long way in a year.

2004:    Duane followed up 2003 with a near-50 race schedule in the 2004 racing season.  Following the Northern All Stars Series for the first time, Chamberlain learned a lot with the opportunity to compete at many different tracks during the season.  He finished out the year with 2 wins, 6 Top 5's, and 14 Top 10 finishes.

2005:    In 2005, Duane and crew once again followed the Northern All Stars Racing Series.  While competing in over 50 events that year, Duane picked up a $2,500 payday on May 20th at Macon Speedway.  In his first season behind the wheel of a Rayburn Race Car out of his own stable, Duane was very pleased with the performance throughout 2005.

2006:    2006 proved to be Duane's best season to date.  While competing nearly 40 times, Duane picked up 4 wins, including the prestigious "Barney Oldfield Memorial" on June 17th at Oakshade Raceway.  The event paid $4,200, Duane's biggest payday in racing.  Along with the 4 victories, he notched 13 Top 5's, with 21 Top 10 finishes.
